Manor hosted Diss knowing a win would put them into the area of the league table they want to be. Diss had show good recent form and their physical

The opening fifteen minutes were a disaster for Manor with a string of mistakes meaning Diss dominated possession in the opening stages. Diss got a penalty to give themselves the lead and the game looked to be drifting away from the home team (0-3).

The first quarter had seen Manor beaten to every ball and give away any possession they did have. The frustration was showing and Lee Reed boiled over and retaliated to some Diss intimidation. The referee had no choice but to send Reed off, the Manor fans knew an already tough task was looking impossible with a man down with an hour still to play.

However the Manor players ignited after the red card and got their hands on the ball. Max Murray, Callum McKie and Alex Hunter looked more than threatening in midfield and on the half hour mark it was Hunter who danced round the visiting defences to sprint clear to score the games first try (converted 7-3).Five minutes later Reese Reed converted a penalty to give Manor an unlikely, but deserved, half time lead (10-3).

Straight after half time Reese Reed converted again to extend the lead (13-3).

The Diss pack took over and made sure the yused their man advantage well. A series of tight plays made sure the Manor players were forced to work hard to keep things equal. In the fiftieth minute the Diss forwards worked a simple lineout very well and their powerful second row broke to cross the line for the try (converted) (13-10).

Manor held on but their energy supplies were dwindling and Diss had a number of chances that were spurned. Still every time Manor got the ball wide they looked faster and more lively than their opponents. On the hour mark Nick Horton broke from the base and fed Reese Reed, who had held his run. Reed dodged his way over for Manors third try (converted) 20-10.

Manor had worked hard to carve out a ten point lead with a man down but they had used alot of energy in getting it. Diss started to really dominate the forwards battle and a ten minute spell saw them take the lead with three quick tries, all unconverted (25-10). With minutes left to play it looked as if Manor had battled well but blown it at the end.

With one last desperate bid Manor got the ball wide and attacked the Diss defences. The Manor pack managed to recycle one more ball and Nick Horton sprinted across the Diss defences. Horton then cleverly chipped the ball wide to Reese Reed who scored the equalising try (unconverted) (25-25).

An afternoon that took the Mnaor fans on a rollercoaster of expectationa nd despair had finsihed with a strange mis of relief and frustration. With a man down for an hour many teams would have folded but Manor have a strong spirit and worked hard to avoid a home defeat.
