The players managed to negotiate the district line and arrived in good spirits as the sun came out in West London. Their hosts were newly promoted and had shown fair form in their first three games in London 1.
A highly motivated Manor pack gathered the kick off and captain John Robinson led from the front with a series of charges into the H&F defence. In the third minute Robinson burst through the defensive line again and fed Francis Nel who in turn passed to Nick Horton who crossed for the first score(unconverted)(0-5). Manor gave away a penalty that straight after the kick off that H&F converted (3-5).
Robinson again took the captains responsibility and scored a try on eight minutes (converted) (3-12). Reece Reed then got his name on the scoreboard again to convert two penalties to give Manor a healthy 3-18 lead after the first quarter.
The half hour mark saw Manor have a nightmare three minutes where the dangerous H&F full back scored between the posts (10-18), then an interception saw their winger put them back into the game (15-18). With Manor's confidence low after three defeats it was important they got back into the game quickly and Dave Dennis obliged with a try (unconverted)
