1. Safeguarding - Eton Manor

“The Rugby Football Union (RFU) is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the sport. All children are entitled to feel safe and protected from any form of abuse and neglect, and have the right to take part in sport in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined within statutory guidance “Working Together to Safeguard Children” as protecting children from maltreatment; preventing impairment of children’s health or development; ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.” – RFU Safeguarding Policy

The Club Safeguarding Officer (CSO), is the first point of contact for safeguarding and welfare concerns. As a member of the Club's General Committee, with direct access to the Executive Committee, she is positioned to make safeguarding issues a priority at the proper level.

The CSO’s role includes the development of the clubs Safeguarding Policy so that it reinforces the RFU Safeguarding Policy and Procedures and the unique local circumstances of the club. The clubs' Safeguarding Policy is available to all using the Links below or the Documents section on this website.

Please take the time to read our Safeguarding Policies and Club Codes of Conduct which have been designed to protect your children.

The CSO is also here to support the welfare of children within the club, identifying any signs of harm or concerns and where necessary reporting up to the RFU Safeguarding team. The CSO supports children through disciplinary procedures ensuring the child’s emotional well-being is considered by the panel, and that the RFU Guidance are available to ensure that best evidence for child witnesses is achieved.

Ultimately the CSO is here to support, so if you have any concerns or if you need any guidance, please do not hesitate to contact our CSO.
